We have been touring the Royal Landscape with groups for ten years. Now for the first time ever we can take you into spectacular areas of Windsor Great Park that are normally reserved for Royal Family’s private use where Her Majesty rides her horse and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh takes his carriage for a spin. The day also includes a visit to Windsor Farm Shop, free time for lunch by Windsor Castle and a tour of The Savill Garden.

We begin at 10.30am with time to buy refreshments at Windsor Farm Shop. The Queen is still a tenant farmer on the Royal Estate with 200 pedigree Jersey milking cows, a pedigree Sussex beef herd, 140 breeding sows, 1500 Lohmann Brown hens, 1000 acres of arable land and 2000 acres of grassland mainly used to feed the livestock. The initiative of Prince Philip and tucked inside Home Park, Mrs Windsor’s shop is very popular with her well heeded neighbours – count the Jaguars, Rollers and Daimlers in the car park!

Your Blue Badge Guide today is an entertaining Windsor specialist who has enjoyed a close working relationship with the Crown Estate for many years. We are going to begin the day with an exhilarating coach panorama of the Royal Landscape - a thousand acres of gardens, lakes and woodlands. Each century has left its own distinctive mark from William the Conqueror’s hunting ground to Queen Victoria entertaining on the shores of Virginia Water. We see where King John met the barons at Runnymede and the Golden Gates at Royal Ascot through which Her Majesty sweeps in her carriage onto the Racecourse. The Queen hasn’t missed a day’s racing at Royal Ascot since 1953!

Meet some remarkable trees and enjoy stunning views of the castle en route to Windsor for free time lunch in the old town beneath the castle walls. In the afternoon we are joined by a member of the Crown Estate for our exclusive tour inside areas of Windsor Great Park not normally accessible by coach.

You’ll see The Village where staff of the Royal Household live and the Royal School built for their children. We take in the Guards Polo Club and the Coronation Groves and step down from the coach to savour one of the greatest views in the Kingdom – the Long Walk from the Copper Horse.

The afternoon coach tour finishes at Savill Garden. Created in the 1930s, Savill is among Britain’s greatest ornamental gardens and it never fails to charm. Our gentle guided tour, will explain the lie of the land and highlight special details. Huge herbaceous borders in Summer towering ten feet tall are simply astonishing and the Rose Garden has matured spectacularly. There will be time at the end of the afternoon to buy refreshments in the striking visitor centre with a floating roof built of larch and oak from the Crown Estate Forests.

You’ll be heading home today at 5.30pm.
