West End Theatre Matinees

When you book group tickets for selected West End Musicals with City & Village Tours

you don’t have to pay for the tickets until four weeks before you go. So you'll never have to gamble with group funds. Book theatre tickets only or combine the show with a three-course hotel carvery meal with coffee in Bloomsbury (just West of the theatres) or our Fish & Chip Feast in Clerkenwell (just East of the theatres) - some of the best fish & chips in London served with mushy peas, cheesecake or ice cream, tea or coffee and a glass of Prosecco. These are restaurants with individual character - a real tonic compared to the identikit chains.

By The Way - The Strand Palace Carvery is no more! Yes, crazy isn't it? These are boom times for North American tourism to London on the back of the weak pound. And Americans don't do carvery! You never know, when the pound goes back up, (and London’s not such a bargain for the Americans) they might need us Brits again and revive the much loved carvery but in the meantime our Bloomsbury Carvery is a great pick. Nice swish restaurant, three course with coffee (no pre-orders needed, just let us know about veggies and gluten frees) and a very reasonably priced bar: - a 175ml glass of wine is £3.60 compared to £7 at the Strand Palace Hotel.

We are the pioneers of the Jam Buster West End Matinee.

Forget about eating a big meal at lunchtime and then struggling to keep your eyes open during the show. Forget coming out of the show at 5.30pm and fighting your way home in the rush hour. Play it smart and book a City & Village Tours West End Theatre Jam Buster.

Come into London around 1.00pm and grab a coffee and a sandwich or a sticky bun near the theatre. Enjoy the show, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and then, when you come out of the theatre at the height of the rush hour, let them get on with it while you disappear into a swish hotel for a carvery meal or our rather wonderful fish & chip restaurant, with lots to talk about. Then drive home on emptier roads. And, best of all, when you get home there’s no supper to make! Just take out the bins, kick off your shoes, bit of news headlines and bed. All together now – wouldn’t it be loverley!

And you won't be risking losing money on unsold theatre tickets because when you book selected West End Musicals* with City & Village Tours because you don't have to pay for the tickets until four weeks before you go.

Here is How It Works

1. You call us and say please book X number of tickets in the Stalls or Dress Circle (you tell us which or ask for a mix of both) for your chosen show on your chosen date.

2. We will book and hold the tickets safe as houses on your behalf. You don't need to pay a deposit and you will get a written confirmation. All offers below are based on a minimum of 25 or more tickets.

3. Four weeks before you go you tell us how many of the tickets we are holding you want and pay for them. eg you asked us to book 49 tickets, four weeks before you are due to go you choose to pay for 40 tickets and we release the other 9. If you can't get the trip off the ground you can release all of the tickets with no charges at all.

4. If you are having a meal you tell us if you have any veggies or gluten frees etc.

5. We send you the tickets so there's no worry about queuing at the box office on the day.

6. That's it. Easy Peasy.

Setting down and picking up in Theatreland isn't scary when you know how. Please see our Guide to Getting On and Off the Coach on page 16 of The Big Book of Trips ( Officially Best Brochure of 2019 at the recent Group Travel Awards don't you know!)
