Arrive Sunday mid morning to drop your bags at the Lodge to return after lunch or plan to arrive in the early afternoon to check in to your spacious and stylish bedrooms – each of which has a view of the Cathedral.

Experience the majesty of the Cathedral choir at Choral Evensong at 3.15pm or enjoy shopping and sightseeing in the city. This SleepOver includes the chef’s three course Sunday dinner cooked just for your group. For the remainder of your evening? Enjoy a drink at one (or more) of the city’s hostelries or how about coffee or a glass of wine and a game of cards in the elegant and book filled library?

On the Monday a top notch Blue Badge Guide arrives after breakfast for your choice of tour. Each option starts with a gentle city walk and Cathedral tour while both are quiet before we return to the Lodge for check out.

Enjoy elevenses of tea, coffee and biscuits while the tour guide supervises porterage of your luggage back to the coach ready to set off.

We are heading by coach to Faversham, one of the most charming and historic small towns in southern England, nestling between the rural beauty of the Downs and the sweeping flatlands of the north Kent marshes. Probably the summer capital of the Saxon Kings, the town was recorded in the Domesday Book and is one of the few places outside London where a King and his Queen were buried.

We’ll have a 2-course lunch with coffee at an historic old pub decked with hop garlands and with an old inglenook fire place in the heart of the pedestrian conservation area.

After lunch we take a little stroll to discover the finest mediaeval street in England, an old world chemist with mortar & pestle shop sign and the art deco cinema. Faversham is enormously attractive and compact so you are never far from cover and we don’t overdo the walking at all. Just right to help lunch go down before starting the drive home at 3.00/3.30pm.
