A KENTISH & COCKNEY CHRISTMAS                                     4 days

This is not turkey & tinsel. It’s a beautifully crafted 4 day pre-Christmas break designed for groups who’d like to spend a few days together with a festive feel but don’t want to be made to pull crackers in November! So we’ve taken away that format and instead we’ve put in some great content to make for a memorable stay. Enjoy two days out with a top notch Blue Badge Guide, a Behind the Scenes Tour, some free time locally and a Cockney Christmas Gala Dinner

Day One: Monday Midday - From the Devil to the Deep Blue Sea. Meet our Blue Badge Guide in the beautiful village of Wye (just off the M20) for a 2-course lunch with coffee. To hell with the motorway! We are going to head to the sea on exciting roads with breathtaking views across the Kent Downs including the spectacular Devil’s Kneading Trough. Check in at this superb and completely refurbished 4* hotel ready for dinner.

Day Two: Tuesday - Rye & The Romney Marsh with the Blue Badge Guide. Includes the beautiful Marsh churches, eerie Dungeness, a fish & chip lunch at the legendary Pilot Inn, free time in Rye and some Marsh ghost stories and a visit to one of the most unique pubs in England on the way back for dinner. Entertainment in the hotel this evening.

Day Three: Wednesday - Free time this morning to do your own thing. Walk along the Leas to the Old Harbour and explore the Old Fish Market. We’ve laid on lunch and a fascinating Behind the Scenes tour at the Grand Hotel on the Leas, two minutes from our hotel. Built in the Downton Abbey age as gentlemen’s residential chambers it was the High Society place to be seen when Edward VII started bringing his mistress here.

Cockney Christmas Gala Dinner Back to the hotel early afternoon to brush up ready for our finale Cockney Gala Dinner. A joyously entertaining evening in the ballroom with the excellent Cockney performer Gordon Bennett (think Max Miller meets Chas & Dave with keyboards, ukulele and Cockney spoons). The evening is a proper Cockney knees up with sing-a-longs, dancing and lots of laughs because the Okey Cokey really is what it’s all about.

Day Four: Thursday - Check out. Option to stop at Ashford Designer Outlet designed by Lord Richard Rogers with 80 shops offering discounts of up to 60%. Alternatively have a morning and free time for lunch in Canterbury before continuing your journey home.
